HCSB has selected South Texas Money Management, Ltd. (STMM) as the third party portfolio manager for our Wealth Management clients. STMM provides active, monitored investment management with a specific philosophy and process. STMM's reputation, investment style and experience of its investment professionals strengthen our commitment to helping our clients meet their financial goals and objectives.
The goal of STMM's investment philosophy of combining both growth and value equity styles in an all-cap core stock portfolio is to achieve diversification as well as competitive returns and lower volatility relative to the applicable benchmark over a 3 to 5 year period. STMM's disciplined diversification across style, sectors, market capitalization and individual stocks helps manage risk, which is especially important in regard to the recent market volatility. STMM's fixed income strategy is again a disciplined approach which encompasses diversification and high credit quality to limit downside risk. In addition to these strengths, their long-term performance objective is consistent with fiduciary relationships.
STMM was founded in 2000 and currently ahs approximately $1.6 billion (as of 12/31/2007) under management. STMM has over forty highly qualified, experienced professionals on staff to serve the needs of our clients, all of whom are accessible and responsive. The CEO and founder, Jeanie Wyatt, is an experienced investment manager who has been a special guest on Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser. Ms. Wyatt was recently named on the the Top 50 Women in Wealth Management by Wealth Manager Magazine. Prior to founding STMM, Ms. Wyatt had a trust-banking career that spanned over twenty-seven years and was responsible for the investment areas of nine trust department around the state with approximately $13 billion in assets.
